Background

In an increasingly competitive and democratic era, there is a need for competent human resources to drive the effective implementation of development programs and good governance. The Master’s Program in Public Administration at the Graduate School of Wijaya Putra University prepares competent, professional human resources equipped with soft skills, adaptable to advancements in science and technology, and possessing moral integrity and ethical standards. In addition, graduates of the UWP MAP Program can pursue careers as academics, researchers, consultants, planners, organizational analysts, and policymakers in government and private institutions.

1. To conduct a master’s program oriented toward the development of collaborative governance and public policy innovation;
2. Conducting applied research that contributes to solving public problems in a creative, adaptive, and sociopreneurship-based manner;

Graduate Profile

1. Mid-level Public Sector Administrator/Manager.
   Holds a mid-level managerial position in a public organization that upholds public values.
2. Mid-level Public Policy Analyst
   Develops policy recommendations as a basis for decision-making, grounded in collaborative public values.
3. Policy Entrepreneur
   Advocates for policy by identifying issues and communicating policies grounded in public values, and leverages opportunities to influence policy outcomes through innovative ideas and strategies to drive desired policy results.
4. Mid-level Researcher in Public Administration
   Conducts research in the field of public administration using scientific methods

Competencies of Master’s Degree Graduates in Public Administration

1. Possess a deep reverence for God Almighty, integrity, and love for the homeland; are able to collaborate while upholding the law, humanity, and diversity; and are environmentally conscious;
2. Are able to advance knowledge, technology, and/or the arts in the fields of public administration, organization, and management through research, resulting in innovative and evidence-based works;
3. Possess a commitment to the principles of social entrepreneurship (sociopreneurship) in creating innovative solutions for the public good;
4. Be able to solve public organizational problems through digital transformation and inter- and multidisciplinary approaches;
5. Master the theory and practice of public policy;
6. Be able to formulate policy recommendations for problem-solving through evidence-based public policy analysis;
7. Ability to formulate, implement, communicate, and advocate for policies;
8. Ability to seize opportunities to propose innovative ideas and strategies that can drive desired policy outcomes;
9. Ability to master various current research methods in the field of public administration to conduct research tasks using scientific, interdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary methods;
10. Ability to publish research findings.

ACADEMIC STATUS

Formally, this program is equivalent to other graduate programs, conferring a Master’s degree (S2), and eligible students may continue their studies to the doctoral level (S3) if they are interested and meet the specified requirements.

CURRICULUM, COURSE LOAD, AND DURATION

The MAP UWP program curriculum is organized on a semester system. The total number of courses taken is equivalent to a course load of 39 Semester Credit Units (SKS), including the Final Project, with a program duration of 3 semesters (18 months).
