About Public Administration

Landscape Image

The Public Administration Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Wijaya Putra (UWP), is one of the university’s flagship programs committed to producing professional, innovative, and ethical human resources in the field of public administration. Through consistent, transparent, and accountable faculty governance in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, FISIP UWP has established itself as a trusted and continuously evolving institution of higher education.
Since its establishment, FISIP UWP has demonstrated significant institutional progress. In 1992, the program’s status was upgraded from “registered” to “recognized” based on the Director General of Higher Education’s Decision (SK) No. 384/DIKTI/KEP/1992. Then, in 1996, its status was further upgraded to “Equivalent” through Decision of the Director General of Higher Education No. 55/Dikti/Kep/1996. This advancement reflects a strong commitment to educational quality and sustainable academic governance.
In terms of academic quality, the Public Administration Program has consistently demonstrated improved performance through its national accreditation achievements. Since its initial accreditation in 1998 with a “C” rating, the program has continuously improved, successfully achieving a “B” rating in 2000, 2005, and 2011. A significant milestone occurred in 2015 when the program achieved an “A” rating, which was subsequently maintained in 2021 pursuant to BAN-PT Decision No. 393/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PPJ/S/I/2021.
Institutional transformation has also continued to address the dynamics of academic development and societal needs. In 2024, the official name of the Public Administration Program was officially changed to the Public Administration Program pursuant to Decision No. 7764/E1/HK.03.00/2024 of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. This change underscores a more adaptive academic orientation toward global developments, including issues of governance, public policy, public service innovation, and government digitalization.
The highest achievement was attained in 2026, when the Public Administration Program received an “EXCELLENT” accreditation rating from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Social, Political, Administrative, and Communication Sciences (LAMSPAK) based on Decision No. 058/AK.03.05/2026, valid until December 31, 2030. This achievement serves as tangible proof of the quality of education, research, and community service that has met national standards and even approaches international standards.
With the support of professional faculty, an Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based curriculum, national and international collaboration networks, and the strengthening of competencies in public policy, governance, and public service innovation, the Public Administration Program at FISIP UWP is poised to become the top choice for young people who wish to contribute to the development of the public sector.
