The Faculty of Language and Literature at Universitas Wijaya Putra  (FBS UWP) was established by Dikti Decree No. 231/DIKTI/Kep/1998. The faculty was established to offer a four-year (eight-semester) program aimed at developing language skills and knowledge of English language and literature, both oral and written.

The vision of the Faculty of Languages and Literature is to become a leading faculty in the field of research-based linguapreneurship by 2030. The concept of “linguapreneurship” is defined as the integration of linguistic proficiency and entrepreneurship. Students will be able to create business opportunities in the field of English, such as skills in translation, editing, creative writing, developing digital content, serving as foreign-language tour guides, and providing innovative and adaptive English language training services tailored to the needs of the global market.

There are three areas of concentration namely  Linguapreneurs, Translation, and Linguistics.

Program Detail

1. To provide competitive education in the development of research-based sociopreneurship to produce English Literature graduates who are competent in the field of linguapreneurship.
2. To enhance the capacity and quality of innovative, research-based research and publications in the field of linguapreneurship.
3. To conduct innovative community service rooted in academic knowledge and research to assist in resolving issues in the field of linguapreneurship.
4. To implement sound governance of the English Literature Program
5. To establish partnerships with educational and non-educational institutions, including professional organizations, as part of development efforts

Graduate Competencies:

1. Ability to perform work in the fields of translation, writing across various genres, literary analysis, linguistics, pedagogy, mass media, and tourism concepts to support the profession and role of a linguapreneur. 
2. Able to design and evaluate English language learning, compose academic papers and research, and develop independent businesses based on language, tourism, and digital technology.
3. Able to think logically, critically, and innovatively in solving linguistic and literary problems, make data-driven decisions, and build professional networks in various related fields.
4. Able to promote a sociopreneurial (linguapreneurial) spirit in various fields related to language and literature and utilize digital technology skills to create creative, educational, and recreational works.
