UWP and Al-Khidmat Congregation Hold a Dhikr Assembly and Send Prayers for Elder Wijaya Putra
The Islamic Spiritual Activities Unit (UKKI) of Wijaya Putra University (UWP) successfully held its Dhikr Majlis, Maulidurasul SAW (Praise to Allah), and Manaqib (Recitation of the Prophet Muhammad) on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Held at the Prof. Saleh Soegiyanto Mosque on the UWP Benowo Campus, this event was held collaboratively with the Al-Khidmah Surabaya congregation.
In addition to serving as a regular Islamic outreach program, this noble assembly also served as a dedicated prayer and tahlil (remembrance of God) for the elders, founders, and pioneers of educational institutions within the Wijaya Putra area who have passed away.
Held with Reverence and Devotion
The event began at 6:30 PM and was attended by hundreds of congregants, including members of the Wijaya Putra academic community, as well as Al-Khidmah administrators and congregation members from various surrounding areas.
The recitation of verses from the Quran opened the event, followed by the recitation of the istighosah (Islamic prayer), the Yasin (O Muhammad), the tahlil (Islamic recitation), and the manaqib (recitation of the Quran) of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani (RA). A solemn and emotional atmosphere enveloped the Prof. Saleh Mosque as the entire congregation united in chanting salawat (prayer) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and sincere prayers for the safety of the nation, the blessings of the campus, and the ongoing deeds of the UWP elders.
"This activity is not merely a spiritual routine, but rather a manifestation of our respect and devotion as the next generation, continuing the chain of prayer to the elders who laid the foundation for the struggle at UWP," said Mulus Sugiharto, S.Sos., M.Si., a representative from the UWP Student Affairs Bureau, in his remarks.
Wijaya Putra, who was also in attendance, expressed his high appreciation for the consistency of UKKI and Jamaah Al-Khidmah in revitalizing the knowledge and dhikr gatherings on campus. The Majlis Al-Khidmah (House of Service) at Wijaya Putra is expected to balance academic achievement with moral and spiritual strengthening for the entire academic community.
The event concluded with a friendly gathering and fellowship among the entire congregation, fostering a sense of camaraderie and Islamic brotherhood.
