To Strengthen P4GN on Campus, Wijaya Putra University Establishes Strategic Partnership with the East Java National Narcotics Agency (BNNP)
Wijaya Putra University (UWP) continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a clean and healthy campus environment. This concrete step was realized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the East Java Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) regarding the Implementation of the Prevention and Eradication Program for the Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors (P4GN) through the Tridharma of Higher Education.
The signing, which took place at the East Java BNNP on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the synergy between educational institutions and law enforcement officials in combating the increasingly complex threat of narcotics, particularly among the younger generation and the academic community.
This MoU specifically regulates the implementation of the P4GN program, which is integrated into the three pillars of the Tridharma of Higher Education: Education and Teaching, Research and Development, and Community Service. Anti-drug material will be integrated into the curriculum to promote drug prevention values, including specific courses and new student orientation activities, to instill awareness from an early age. Expert drug counselors from the East Java National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) will regularly provide training to the UWP academic community on the dangers of drug abuse. Lecturers and students will be encouraged to conduct research and community service programs in the field of P4GN, with mentoring from the East Java BNNP.
With the signing of this MoU, UWP officially declares its commitment to realizing a "Kampus Bersinar" (Clean from Drugs). UWP Rector, Dr. Budi Endarto, M.Hum., hopes that the collaboration with the East Java BNNP will be effective and sustainable, thus creating a safe, comfortable, and conducive educational ecosystem for the development of student potential.
"We do not want any UWP student to fall into drug abuse. Let us jointly safeguard our campus environment, because the future of the nation lies in the hands of a healthy, intelligent, and virtuous young generation," the Rector concluded.
