In an effort to strengthen synergy between the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) and educational institutions, Bagus Supriyadi, S.STP, S.H, M.H., Head of Babat Jerawat Village, Pakal District, Surabaya, conducted a working visit to the Wijaya Putra University (UWP) campus on Wednesday, January 22, 2026.

The visit focused on three main agendas: promoting educational assistance from the Surabaya City Government for UWP students, strengthening the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) empowerment program, and developing the potential of the Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) in the Babat Jerawat Village area.

In a meeting attended by UWP leadership, Bagus Supriyadi, S.STP, S.H, M.H., expressed his appreciation for UWP's contribution to developing the nation's next generation.

"We want to ensure that all assistance programs from the Surabaya City Government, particularly in the education sector, are easily accessible to our residents, including UWP students residing in the Pakal District of Surabaya," said Bagus Supriyadi, S.STP, S.H, M.H., in his remarks.
The village head opened a consultation room for UWP students from Babat Jerawat who need information or are facing obstacles in accessing educational assistance such as scholarships, single tuition assistance (UKT), or the Indonesia Smart College Card program. UWP is committed to collecting data and facilitating students who are potential recipients of this assistance.

Both parties agreed to explore concrete collaborations. The plan is for UWP to provide technical assistance to MSMEs fostered by Babat Jerawat Village, including processing NIB and Halal Certificates, training in product packaging, digital marketing, and simple financial management.
MSME products from Babat Jerawat will also be given the opportunity to be marketed within the UWP campus through bazaars or on the campus's digital platforms.
To enhance the capacity of the younger generation, UWP offers soft skills, entrepreneurship, and technology training programs for members of the Babat Jerawat Youth Organization (Karang Taruna).
Opportunities for Karang Taruna participation in various Community Service (PKM) activities held by UWP students and lecturers in the village were also discussed.

UWP Rector, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., welcomed this initiative from the Babat Jerawat Village. "This is an excellent form of synergy. The campus exists not only to produce graduates, but also to be part of the solution for the surrounding community. This collaboration in empowering MSMEs and youth aligns with UWP's vision of Becoming a Leading University in Research-Based Sociopreneurship Development by 2030," he said.

This meeting is expected to foster a sustainable partnership between the Babat Jerawat Village and UWP. The Surabaya City Government's support is expected to be more effectively felt by the community, from students and business owners to the youth of the youth organization.
