In an effort to strengthen partnerships between educational institutions and security forces, the Pakal Police Chief of Surabaya City, Commissioner Sugeng Rianto, SH., MM., MAP., paid a courtesy visit to Wijaya Putra University (UWP), known as a Sociopreneur Campus. The visit, which took place on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, was welcomed by UWP Rector, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum.
This activity served as a strategic opportunity to discuss synergies in creating a safe and conducive campus environment that supports the development of social entrepreneurship (sociopreneurship) among students. During the meeting, the Pakal Police Chief expressed his appreciation for UWP's commitment to being a Sociopreneur Campus, which focuses not only on academic achievement but also on creating a tangible social impact for the surrounding community.
"We greatly appreciate UWP's vision as a research-based sociopreneurial campus. UWP's presence in the Pakal District community has made a positive contribution, particularly in empowering MSMEs and community service programs that directly address the needs of residents," said Police Commissioner Sugeng Rianto in his remarks.
UWP Rector, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., who accompanied the visit, welcomed the visit as a form of strengthening partnerships. He emphasized that security and order are essential foundations for innovation and research development.
"Synergy with the police is essential, especially in supporting UWP's Impactful spirit. We want students to not only become economically successful entrepreneurs but also possess a strong social conscience and live in a safe environment in which to work," Dr. Budi Endarto emphasized.
This visit was not merely a ceremonial gathering, but also a solid foundation for the emergence of a safe and productive campus ecosystem. With the continued synergy fostered between the security forces and the UWP academic community, we are optimistic that we can continue to produce a generation of sociopreneurs who are not only business savvy but also socially savvy. Amidst the dynamic challenges of this era, this collaboration between the Pakal Police and UWP serves as clear evidence that educational advancement and security stability are two sides of the same coin, inseparable for the realization of a more prosperous Surabaya.
