Wijaya Putra University (UWP) hosted a comparative study visit from students from Mulawarman University Samarinda and STIA LAN Makassar on August 3 and 4, 2025. This activity aimed to deepen their understanding of the application of the sociopreneurship concept, which has become a hallmark and core spirit of the UWP campus.
The group of 10 students was warmly welcomed by the Rector of Wijaya Putra University, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., along with the leadership of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. In his remarks, the Rector expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in Mulawarman University Samarinda and STIA LAN Makassar by choosing UWP as a comparative study destination. "UWP's sociopreneurship values combine entrepreneurship with social responsibility, encouraging students not only to create economic value but also to provide tangible social benefits to the community," said Dr. Budi Endarto.
During the visit, the students participated in a series of activities, including a campus tour to see the facilities and learning environment at UWP, as well as visits to UWP's partners at the Kampung Semanggi Culinary Center and the Surabaya Zoo. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with UWP students to exchange experiences on academic and non-academic activities.
"Coming to UWP has opened our eyes to how a campus can be more than just a place to study. UWP inspires us to become agents of change, not only successful in business but also responsive to social issues," said Gita Riski, a student from Mulawarman University in Samarinda.
Rezeki Abdullah, a student representative from STIA LAN Makasar, also expressed his gratitude for the new experience. "Over the past two days, we have gained new experiences and made new friends. Hopefully, this communication will continue in the future," he said.
In addition to expanding our network, this activity is expected to spread the spirit of sociopreneurship so that it can be adapted and developed on our respective campuses. Wijaya Putra University is consistently committed to becoming a campus that not only produces competent graduates but also graduates with sociopreneurial character, ready to make a positive contribution to the nation's social and economic development.
