Rector Emphasizes "Impactful Campus" Paradigm at 2025-2026 Inauguration of Student Executive Boards, Student Representative Councils, and Student Activity Units (UKM)
Wijaya Putra University (UWP) Surabaya inaugurated the management of the University and Faculty Student Executive Boards (BEM), the Student Representative Council (DPM), and Student Activity Units (UKM) for the 2025-2026 term in a solemn ceremony at the Benowo Campus Dome on Friday (10/10/2025).
The inauguration was attended by university officials, student organization advisors, and student representatives from various faculties. This momentum marks a crucial step in the regeneration of student leadership within UWP.
Student President-elect Bayu Tri Putra encouraged all BEM, DPM, and UKM administrators to strengthen collaboration and commitment in designing work programs that align with the university's vision.
"Let's start working together. Every step and activity must be oriented towards supporting the achievement of Wijaya Putra University's vision," Bayu said in his remarks.
Meanwhile, UWP Rector Dr. Budi Endarto, S.H., M.Hum., who led the inauguration ceremony, delivered an inspiring message to the new board. He emphasized the importance of the "Impact Campus" paradigm, which is now the direction of higher education transformation, in line with the policies of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
"The good things from the previous year will be maintained, but don't be afraid to adapt to the new paradigm. Now, every campus activity, including those carried out by the Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Representative Council (DPM), and Student Activity Units (UKM), must have a real impact on the community," the Rector emphasized.
The Rector also stated that UWP already has strong capital to move towards the Impact Campus concept, having long upheld the vision of being a Sociopreneur University.
"Through activities such as community service, PPK Ormawa (Student Organizations), Innovillage, and PKM (Student Creativity Program), UWP lecturers and students have made significant contributions to the surrounding community," he said.
On the occasion, the university also presented awards worth tens of millions of rupiah to outstanding lecturers and students at both the national and international levels. Awards were also presented to student executive boards (BEM) and student-run units (UKM) that successfully implemented programs that had a positive impact on the community.
Concluding his remarks, the Rector expressed his hope that the recognition would inspire the entire academic community to continue innovating, synergizing, and moving forward, in line with UWP's tagline: "Growth with Society."
