On Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Grand Mercure Hotel Surabaya, Wijaya Putra University (UWP) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Barunawati College of Port Administration and Management (STIAMAK) Surabaya. The signing of the MoA was carried out directly by the Chancellor of Wijaya Putra University, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., and the Chairperson of STIAMAK Surabaya, Dr. Gugus Wijonarko, MM.

This strategic collaboration is a real step in strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions. As part of this collaboration, STIAMAK Surabaya held an International Seminar with the theme "Smart and Halal Supply Chain Management Model for International Seaport and Marine Logistic". This seminar is expected to be a forum for discussion and exchange of knowledge regarding the latest innovations and trends in managing Halal and smart supply chains in the international port and maritime logistics areas.

The Chancellor of Wijaya Putra University, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., said that this collaboration is a strategic effort to improve the quality of education, research, and community service, especially in the maritime sector. "We believe that this collaboration will provide great benefits for students and lecturers," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of STIAMAK Surabaya, Dr. Gugus Wijonarko, MM., said that the seminar organized by STIAMAK Surabaya is an important forum to discuss innovative solutions in managing efficient and Halal-standard supply chains, which are very relevant to the dynamics of the current maritime industry. He also hopes that this collaboration can continue in various academic and research activities that support the development of community service.

With synergy between universities, it is hoped that new innovations will be created that are able to compete at the global level.
