Wijaya Putra University Establishes Cooperation with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia through Signing of Letter of Intent
Medan October 25, 2024 at the National Coordination Meeting organized by the Association of Higher Education in Informatics and Computers has officially established a Letter of Intent (LoI) collaboration between Wijaya Putra University (UWP) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the signing of this LoI marks a significant initial step for both institutions in strengthening collaboration in the fields of education, research, and technology development. In this activity, UWP was represented by Alven Safik Ritonga, Ssi., M.Sc., as Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Wijaya Putra University. Within the framework of this collaboration, UWP and UTM plan to develop various collaborative programs, such as student and lecturer exchange programs, research collaborations, international seminars, and joint development of technological innovation projects. The main focus of this collaboration is to encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration in the fields of science, technology, and engineering which are the strengths of both universities. The initial step marked by the signing of the LoI is expected to be followed by the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) which will become the legal umbrella for the implementation of concrete programs in the near future. The signing of the LoI between UWP and UTM is an important milestone in the internationalization of education in Indonesia and Malaysia, and provides opportunities for students and lecturers to engage in broader academic and cultural experiences.
