Wijaya Putra University and Bank Tabungan Negara Establish Strategic Cooperation in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education

University, Benowo Campus on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Wijaya Putra University
(UWP) and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) officially established a strategic
collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service. This
collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
by representatives of both institutions, which aims to increase real
contributions to the development of human resources and innovation in the
banking and education sectors, especially higher education.
Synergy for Education and Research
Development This collaboration covers various aspects, ranging from internship
programs, teaching practitioners, and recruitment of UWP graduates at BTN, to
developing a curriculum that is in line with the needs of the banking industry.
In addition, both parties will collaborate in applied research, especially in
the fields of financial technology (fintech) and the digital economy.
The Chancellor of Wijaya Putra
University, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., stated, "Collaboration with BTN
opens up great opportunities for students and lecturers to be directly involved
in strategic projects in the banking industry. This is a concrete step in
preparing competent graduates who are ready to compete in the world of
work."
Not only focusing on education and
research, UWP and BTN are also committed to implementing community service
programs, such as financial literacy education, entrepreneurship training, and
mentoring of UWP's partner MSMEs. This program is expected to empower the
community, especially in the Surabaya area, in optimizing the economic
potential of MSMEs in line with the spirit of UWP, namely Sociopreneurial
University.
Head of BTN KC Surabaya Bukit Darmo,
Diky Irawan, added, "BTN has a social responsibility to support education
and economic growth of the community. Through collaboration with UWP, we can
expand this positive impact with a structured academic approach."
This collaboration is expected to be
a model of positive synergy between the world of education and the banking
industry, while strengthening UWP's role in Becoming a Leading University in
Developing Research-Based Sociopreneurship in 2030. Both parties agreed to
continue to evaluate and innovate so that this collaboration provides
sustainable benefits for all parties.
