Wijaya Putra
University (UWP) Surabaya which never stops innovating. This time, the UWP
lecturer team went directly to the field, helping Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSMEs) in the souvenir sector to increase their efficiency and
productivity with the latest technology.
One of the
innovations that has attracted attention is the use of oven machines in the
production process. This machine, which is usually used in the food industry,
is now being used by souvenir entrepreneurs to speed up the drying process of
raw materials such as wood, resin and other natural materials.
The drying
process, which usually takes days in the sun, can now be accelerated to just a
few hours with an oven. Not only that, the use of this machine also eliminates
dependence on weather, so production can run without obstacles.
"This
innovation makes MSMEs much more efficient," said Dr. Nugroho Mardi
Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc., a member of the UWP lecturer team together with Yuyun
Widiastuti, S.E., M.M., and Navik Kholili, ST., M.Sc., spearheaded the
Community Partnership Empowerment Program (PKM).
The program
entitled PKM Capacity Building and Branding of Craft Products Made from Wood
and Resin to Support the Revival of Tourism in Jombang Regency has had a big
impact on local MSMEs.
