UWP Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Menganti Village, Gresik, Officially Establish Partnership to Establish an Impactful Campus in the Community
The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Wijaya Putra University (UWP) has officially established a strategic partnership with the Menganti Village Government, Menganti District, Gresik Regency. The signing of the MoA took place in the FISIP UWP meeting room on Monday, June 8, 2026, marking the beginning of a collaboration that upholds the spirit of Impactful Campus and Sociopreneurship.
This collaboration aims to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in an integrated and sustainable manner, encompassing four main areas: education, research, and community service, to enhance the impactful campus.
The Dean of FISIP UWP, Dr. Supriyanto, M.Sc., in his remarks emphasized that this collaboration demonstrates UWP's commitment to being a campus that excels not only in research but also in community service.
"Menganti Village has extraordinary social, cultural, and economic potential. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of UWP is here not just to research, but to assist, empower, and create a real impact on the village community. We want the residents to truly benefit from the knowledge we possess," said the Dean of FISIP UWP.
Meanwhile, the Head of Menganti Village, Handoko, S.Pd., enthusiastically welcomed the collaboration and stated that his residents had eagerly awaited this collaboration.
"We are very open to and require academic support from universities. Many village programs require strong research and data support. We hope that, together with FISIP UWP, Menganti Village will become increasingly advanced, well-planned, and prosperous," he emphasized.
As a follow-up, FISIP UWP will soon deploy a team of lecturers and students to conduct an initial mapping of Menganti Village's potential and problems. Several priority programs planned for the near future include a community service program, administrative assistance for village officials, and the "Village Teaching Campus" program, which involves students as digital and social literacy facilitators for residents.
Dr. Supriyanto, M.Sc., added that the success of this collaboration will be evaluated periodically every six months with the village government.
"We want this collaboration to be truly impactful, not just ceremonial. We will measure the success indicators of each program, and we will involve the community as the main subject of development, not just an object," he concluded.
The MoU signing concluded with a group photo of the UWP Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Menganti Village Head. The warm and hopeful atmosphere marked the beginning of a collaboration that is expected to bring real change to the people of Menganti Village, Gresik Regency.
