UWP Faculty of Law Holds Working Meeting, Reinforcing Vision of Excellence Based on Research and Legalpreneurship

The Faculty of Law, Wijaya Putra University (FH UWP), held a Working Meeting (Raker) on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Restaurant Nine, Surabaya. The event was attended by the heads of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Programs, all lecturers, and representatives from the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty.

At the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Andy Usmina Wijaya, M.H., presented several performance achievements throughout 2025. These included the Faculty's accreditation to "Very Good," the promotion of lecturers' functional positions, the Faculty's social media presence, and lecturer and student publications.

"I would like to convey that the Faculty of Law, UWP, has added three new Associate Professors, bringing the total to five. This increase in lecturer functional positions is also accompanied by an increase in student quality," he emphasized.

The student quality referred to is that by 2025, 100% of final-year students will participate in an article writing program in accredited national journals as a substitute for a thesis.

"All student writing has successfully entered SINTA 3-4 journals. Several students have even collaborated with lecturers to successfully enter SINTA 2 journals, even SCOPUS," he explained.

In addition to presenting achievements for 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UWP also outlined several programs that will be implemented in 2026. These include the nomination of Professors at UWP's Faculty of Law, the implementation of the OBE curriculum, and the quality of lecturer and student publications, leading to publications in reputable international journals.

"We are directing all of these program plans toward the re-accreditation of UWP's Faculty of Law, which is expected to achieve superior accreditation by 2027. We aspire for UWP's Faculty of Law to become a leading, research-based Faculty of Law, in line with the vision of Legalpreneurship," he said.

UWP Chancellor, Dr. Budi Endarto, M.Hum., expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the UWP Faculty of Law. He even stated that it should serve as a model for other study programs and faculties.

"I hope these achievements will continue to grow and have a significant impact on the development of legal science in Indonesia, in line with the UWP tagline 'impactful UWP' that we have launched," he said.

The event concluded with a group photo of all UWP Faculty of Law lecturers wearing red T-shirts emblazoned with the words "Faculty of Law, Wijaya University, Impactful," emphasizing the impactful spirit of UWP Faculty of Law, with its vision of excellence based on research and legal entrepreneurship.
