Universitas Wijaya Putra (UWP) demonstrates its commitment to improving the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, one of which is by expanding its network internationally thru the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global e-Policy e-Government Institute, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. This MoU was signed at the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA) Congress and International Conference held from October 27-29, 2025, at Nusa Cendana University, Kupang.

The event was attended by representatives from various universities and government institutions both from Indonesia and abroad. Thru this collaboration, both institutions are committed to knowledge exchange, joint research, and human resource development.

The Vise Rector I of UWP, Dr. Sri Juni Woro Astuti, M.Com., stated that this collaboration is a strategic step to enhance the competence of the UWP academic community. This cooperation is directed toward strengthening UWP's positioning as a university committed to the development of sociopreneurship, in line with the established vision and mission. "We are very enthusiastic about utilizing the opportunity for cooperation with Sungkyunkwan University, a renowned university from South Korea, by developing research and community empowerment based on technological innovation and public policy oriented toward social welfare," she said.

The Vise Rector III of UWP, Dr. Esa Wahyu Endarti, SH., M.Si., appreciated the role of IAPA in facilitating this forum, as international collaboration like this is very important in strengthening UWP's position on the international stage and expanding academic and professional networks in the field of public administration and e-Government. "Hopefully, this cooperation will be a motivation and make a positive contribution to UWP. Let's increase the spirit of collaboration and innovation for a brighter future," she emphasized.

Meanwhile, a representative from the Global e-Policy e-Government Institute, Prof. Kwon Gi Heon, welcomed this opportunity and hoped that this cooperation would bring significant benefits to both parties.

It is hoped that the signing of this MoU will not only remain a ceremonial framework, but will be followed up immediately with concrete collaborations that have a direct impact, such as the development of joint research on digital sociopreneurship and collaborative governance, the organization of joint seminars or international academic programs, the strengthening of faculty and student capacity thru exchange programs, and the design of pilot projects for digital village information systems or e-governance platforms relevant to the Indonesian context. With the strategic synergy between UWP's excellence in community empowerment and GePeGI SKKU's focus on digital policy innovation, it is hoped that a global collaboration model will be created that is capable of strengthening technology-based, inclusive, and sustainable regional development.
