Three UWP Lecturers Collaborate to Support Jujitsu Athletes, Provide Training Equipment for the Asian Championships
Wijaya Putra University (UWP)
Surabaya lecturers' concern for sports development was again demonstrated in
real action. This time, three UWP lecturers focused on supporting Jujitsu Dojo
Wijaya Putra athletes by donating fitness equipment in the form of SIT-UP
Portable, which is very practical and easy to carry anywhere.
This support is a concrete
manifestation of the role of lecturers in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher
Education, especially in the field of community service. They want to ensure
that Jujitsu athletes are ready to face the Southeast Asia Unesa Open (KJUO)
Ju-Jitsu Championship, which will be held on 18-20 October 2024.
“We provide Portable SIT-UP
equipment so that athletes can maintain their fitness. This tool is easy to use
and transport, so it can be used anywhere. "The aim is to help athletes
avoid injuries that often occur due to punches, kicks and locks during training
and matches," said Mochammad Muchid, Head of Service, when interviewed.
This service program is chaired by
Mochammad Muchid, with Muharom as companion and Krisnadhi Hariyanto as
executor. The three hope that with this fitness equipment, athletes can improve
their performance and reduce the risk of long-term injury.
"We not only want to help
them become champions at the Southeast Asian level, but also open up
opportunities for them to achieve achievements that can earn them educational
scholarships," added Muchid, on the sidelines of the athletes' training.
This support is an important step
in preparing Jujitsu Dojo Wijaya Putra athletes to compete at the international
level, as well as showing how serious Wijaya Putra University is in encouraging
pupils and students to achieve achievements, both in academics and sports.
