The story of three UWP students, achieving achievements and motorbike racing that made the campus name soar
Wijaya Putra University (UWP)
Surabaya celebrated a special moment on Saturday, 19 October 2024, when three
of its students were named icons of achievement at the national level. Yogi
Triu Agustiyan, Sri Wilujeng, and Suci Mulyani succeeded in making UWP proud in
the academic and non-academic fields, proving that brilliant achievements can
be achieved through hard work, dedication, and determination to never give up.
Yogi Tri Agustiyan, a student of the
Industrial Engineering Study Program, emerged as the main star with
extraordinary achievements. Not only did he succeed in winning the title of
Most Favorite Graduate and Most Favorite Graduate of the Industrial Engineering
Study Program, Yogi was also named the Most Outstanding Graduate. This
brilliant achievement gave him a full scholarship to continue his Masters
studies. Yogi, who comes from Ponorogo and was born on July 29 1997, expressed
his gratitude. "Thank God, I didn't expect to achieve this achievement. I
have been working since 2019 and my research focuses on improving the
performance of loading and unloading containers at the Port of Surabaya,"
he said. The scholarship he received was a big encouragement to continue to
innovate in the industrial sector.
Sri Wilujeng: Academic Excellence that
Bears Sweet Fruit. On the other hand, Sri Wilujeng recorded academic
achievements by achieving a high GPA which earned him a 75% scholarship for
Masters level. His achievements not only made him proud, but also his entire
family who proudly accepted the award on stage. Sri is a symbol of how hard
work in the academic world can open up many opportunities and a bright future.
Suci Mulyani: Champion in Racing
and Life. No less impressive is Suci Mulyani, a student majoring in Management,
Faculty of Economics. Outside of his busy schedule as a student, Suci is known
as a successful car racing and motor cross athlete. The title of overall
champion in the 2019 *Indonesian National Championship Series* is one of the
many achievements he achieved, making UWP proud on the national stage.
Suci also received coaching money amounting
to IDR 49 million as appreciation for his achievements. "I'm happy to be
able to take part in the race and at the same time carry the UWP name. Even
though I've broken my bones four times, my enthusiasm has never waned," he
said enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, in his speech, the Chancellor of
Wijaya Putra University, Dr. Budi Endarto, SH., M.Hum., gave high appreciation
to the graduates. "You are extraordinary students, a generation born in
the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, undergoing online lectures for the first
few semesters. You have faced great challenges, but today, you have proven
yourself to be an extra-extraordinary generation," he said proudly.
Dr. Budi Endarto also expressed
his appreciation for the success of UWP lecturers and students in obtaining
competition grants in 2024, which experienced a significant increase compared
to the previous year.
These grants cover research, community
service, lecturer prototype assistance programs, as well as various other
programs that support academic development and innovation.
This graduation ceremony was attended by
382 graduates from various faculties at UWP. With a series of majors covering
social, technical, language, economics, psychology, to law and agriculture, UWP
continues to prove itself as an educational institution that is committed to
developing students' knowledge and skills.
With the extraordinary achievements of
Yogi, Sri, and Suci, UWP has not only established itself as a campus that
produces superior academics, but also as a place to develop talents in various
fields.
Their achievements are an inspiration for
the younger generation to continue to dream big and fight hard, both in the
academic world and in life.
