Sociopreneurial Campus Becomes a Reality! UWP's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Partners with Warmadewa Faculty of Social and Political Sciences through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) and Academic Benchmarking.
The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Wijaya Putra University (UWP) once again demonstrated its commitment as a university that continues to make a real impact on society. On Monday, June 22, 2026, FISIP UWP hosted an academic gathering visit from FISIP Warmadewa University (UNWAR) Denpasar for a benchmarking session and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This event took place at UWP's Benowo Campus in Surabaya.
This solemn event provided a strategic opportunity for both institutions to exchange experiences and strengthen synergies in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The MoA signing was conducted by the Dean of FISIP UWP and the Vice Dean of FISIP Warmadewa, witnessed by faculty leaders and lecturers from both parties.
The Dean of FISIP UWP, Dr. Supriyanto, M.Si., in his remarks expressed his appreciation for the visit from the Balinese partners. He emphasized that this collaboration represents a concrete step towards expanding academic networks and enriching scientific knowledge, particularly in the fields of public administration and public policy.
"We are very enthusiastic about welcoming the team from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Warmadewa. This benchmarking activity and the signing of the MoA are not merely ceremonial, but lay the foundation for more substantive collaboration in the future. We believe that by sharing best practices, we can jointly improve the quality of education and research," said Dr. Supriyanto in his remarks.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Vice Dean of FISIP Warmadewa, Dra. Lilik Antarini, M.Erg., welcomed this collaborative initiative. She stated that UWP was chosen as the benchmarking partner due to its growing reputation and innovative programs. This collaboration is expected to encompass various areas, such as lecturer and student exchanges, joint research, scientific seminars, and curriculum development that is responsive to current needs.
The scope of the collaboration outlined in this MoA aligns with UWP's vision as a Sociopreneurial Campus that prioritizes the values of social entrepreneurship in all its academic activities. As a campus with the tagline "Impactful UWP," it is committed to producing not only intellectually intelligent graduates but also those who care and are sensitive to the social issues surrounding them.
The benchmarking activity, held on the UWP campus, featured in-depth discussions on various best practices, ranging from quality assurance systems and research center management to empowerment-based community service programs. UWP's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, with its Center for Public Policy Studies (PKKP), shared experiences on how research and policy studies can be translated into applicable recommendations for the government and the community.
With the signing of this MoA, UWP's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Warmadewa Faculty of Social and Political Sciences agreed to immediately follow up on the agreement with concrete programs. Some planned activities for the near future include cross-campus guest lectures, collaborative research in the field of public policy, and joint community service programs targeting local community empowerment.
This collaboration also serves as concrete evidence that UWP continues to strive to become an adaptive and collaborative campus. As a sociopreneurial campus, UWP focuses not only on academic achievement but also on how knowledge can be utilized to solve social problems. UWP's regular community mentoring programs demonstrate this consistent commitment.
The benchmarking and MoA signing session concluded with a group photo and a friendly gathering. The hope was that the collaboration would be long-lasting and provide maximum benefits for both institutions, particularly in producing a generation of sociopreneurs ready to contribute to the nation and state. UWP, through Impactful UWP, with its Sociopreneurial Campus spirit, continues to demonstrate that higher education must be a driving force for social change.
