Series of 44th Wijaya Putra Anniversary, Wijaya Putra University Holds Arts, Sports, and Scientific Work Week
The Student Executive Board of Wijaya Putra University (BEM UWP) held an Arts, Sports, and Scientific Work Week to celebrate the 44th Anniversary of Wijaya Putra with the theme "Sociopreneur Innovation Towards Wijaya Putra's Excellence and Dignity". The event was marked by an opening ceremony held at the UWP Sports Field, Benowo Campus on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dr. Esa Wahyu Endarti, S.H., M.Sc., in his report said that this ceremony was attended by all 7 Faculties at UWP. "This activity is expected to produce athletes, artists, and scientists who can carry the name of Wijaya Putra on the national and international stage," he said.
The implementation of these activities includes internal PKM competitions, PPK Ormawa and P2MW, as well as several competitions from sports branches between Faculties and competitions involving junior high and high school students throughout East Java.
Chancellor of Wijaya Putra University, Dr. Budi Endarto, S.H., M.Hum., in his speech expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the Arts, Sports, and Scientific Work Week. "This collaboration between UWP Academics must be maintained and continued, I hope that activities like this will continue in the series of upcoming Dies Natalis," said Budi.
He added that the activity is also expected to support UWP's vision "Becoming a Leading University in the Development of Research-Based Sociopreneurship in 2030" and is in line with UWP's tagline, namely "Growth with Society".
The opening ceremony was closed with a ceremony in the form of the first kick of the ball by the UWP Chancellor and the hitting of a volleyball by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs which marked the start of the Arts, Sports, and Scientific Work Week in the framework of the 44th Wijaya Putra Dies Natalis.
