Hundreds of New Wijaya Putra University Students are Enthusiastic about Participating in PKKMB in 2024
Wijaya Putra
University (UWP) successfully held PKKMB (Introduction to Campus Life for New
Students) in 2024. The event, which took place from 11 to 15 September 2024,
was attended by 450 new students from various study programs at UWP.
With the theme
"Optimizing Gen-Z with GOLD Character (Empathy, Independence, Adaptive
& Solutive)", the 2024 PKKMB aims to welcome and prepare new students
so they can adapt well to the lecture environment.
The PKKMB
activity is not only an introduction, but also a momentum for new students to
build relationships with fellow students and lecturers.
Apart from
orientation activities, new students are also invited to take part in various
interesting activities such as introduction to Faculties and Study Programs,
provision of academic materials, self-development materials, ice breaking
activities and games, introduction to student organizations, dance and music
performances, visits to campus facilities, as well as motivation and
inspiration.
In his
remarks, the Chancellor of UWP, Dr. Budi Endarto., M.Hum., expressed the hope
that new students can quickly adapt to the campus environment because the
atmosphere and culture of higher education is different from secondary
education and become a generation that has independence, care, and achieves
both in academic and non-academic fields and contributes to public.
"By
applying the EMAS values (Empathy, Independence, Adaptive & Solutive)
they can be developed together during the learning process at college," he
said in his welcoming speech.
Chair of the
2024 UWP PKKMB Committee, Suprayoga, SE., M.Si., explained that the material
presented was tailored to the needs of students in the current digital era.
"We want UWP students to not only be academically intelligent, but also
have the skills needed in the world of work," he said.
A total of 28
outstanding UWP students succeeded in winning Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) scholarships from Bank Jatim amounting to IDR 70,000,000.
This
scholarship is given as a form of appreciation for the academic achievements
and potential possessed by students.
The handover
was carried out by the Head of the Bank Jatim branch, Hr. Muhammad Surabaya,
Rika Agustini, SH., M.Kn., to the Chancellor of UWP, Dr. Budi Endarto., M.Hum.,
and received directly by 28 UWP students.
