This success demonstrates the team's depth and the diverse talent across UWP's study programs, from Management and Psychology to Law and Mechanical Engineering.
The competition, organized by Surabaya State University (UNESA), brought together hundreds of top silat athletes from various universities and clubs across Indonesia. Amidst intense competition, the four UWP representatives demonstrated formidable techniques, tactics, and a strong fighting spirit. Ratu Miranda C.P. and Bintang Putra A won two gold medals, while Muhammad Dafa'udi and Muhamad Zaky completed the competition with a silver and a bronze.
"We are very grateful and proud of this extraordinary achievement. This result is a testament to the hard work, high discipline in training, and unyielding spirit of the athletes, supported by the coaches and the entire UWP academic community. This achievement demonstrates that UWP excels not only academically but also seriously cultivates non-academic talent, particularly in traditional Indonesian martial arts," said Vice Rector 3, Dr. Esa Wahyu Endarti, M.Si.
This impressive achievement is expected to inspire other UWP students to excel in various fields. In addition, it is a momentum to continue improving extracurricular pencak silat development at UWP in order to produce more high-achieving athletes on the national and even international stage.
