FISIP Wijaya Putra University and the Community Empowerment and Development Team Hold a Village Official Test in Hendrosari Menganti Gresik
Gresik, September 24, 2025 – Hendrosari Village, Menganti District, Gresik Regency, successfully conducted a village official test in collaboration with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Wijaya Putra University (FISIP UWP). This activity took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, as a manifestation of the implementation of UWP's vision and mission to become "a leading university in the development of research-based sociopreneurship" by 2030.
The selection of Hendrosari village officials was carried out objectively and transparently, with test questions developed by the UWP Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) academic team in collaboration with the Village Official Recruitment and Screening Team (P3D). The Village Official test questions referred to Gresik Regent Regulation Number 19 of 2017 concerning Procedures for the Recruitment, Screening, Appointment, and Dismissal of Officials, covering four main areas: general knowledge, Indonesian language, arithmetic, and a logic and scholastic aptitude test (logic and analysis). The village official test for the Hamlet Head (Kasun) position was attended by four candidates with high school, diploma (D3), and bachelor's (S1) degrees.
The Dean of UWP's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences explained that this activity aligns with the faculty and university development roadmap. "This collaboration is part of the implementation of UWP's vision." "To become a leading university in the development of research-based sociopreneurship by 2030. Through research-based activities and community service like this, students and lecturers can directly contribute to transparent village governance, while simultaneously encouraging independence and social innovation at the local level," he said.
Village Head Hendrosari also expressed his appreciation for UWP's involvement in supporting the professionalism of the village official selection process. "We are grateful to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UWP for assisting us in ensuring an objective, transparent, and accountable selection process," he said.
This village official test is not only a means of selecting village officials, but also a concrete manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly research-based community service. With a sociopreneurship approach, this activity is expected to develop village officials who are competitive, innovative, and responsive to community needs.
Through this collaboration, UWP demonstrates its commitment to strengthening the role of academics in village development while accelerating the achievement of its 2030 vision as a leading university in sociopreneurship research and development.
