FEB UWP Students Visit for Business Observation at Surabaya Zoo
Dozens of students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Wijaya Putra University (UWP) were seen enthusiastically conducting business observations at the Surabaya Zoo (KBS) on Sunday, January 26, 2025. This activity aims to provide students with direct learning experiences about how businesses operate in the real world.
The students were divided into several groups and given the task of observing various aspects of the business at KBS. They observed everything from operational management, marketing, finance, to human resources.
"We want students to not only learn theory in class, but also see firsthand how the theory is applied in practice," said Agung Bayu Murti, SE., MSE. "KBS is the right place to conduct observations because there are various kinds of businesses here, from ticket sales, food, to souvenirs."
The students looked very enthusiastic in conducting observations. They asked questions to KBS staff, noted important information, and discussed in groups.
"This activity is very useful for us," said Wahyu Prasetyo, one of the observation participants. "We understand better how business works and what challenges must be faced."
In addition to conducting observations, the students also had the opportunity to interact with KBS visitors. They asked about the visitors' experiences, what they liked about KBS, and what could be improved.
"We want to get information from various perspectives," said Wahyu Prasetyo. "Not only from KBS staff, but also from visitors."
The results of this observation will later be analyzed and presented by each group. It is hoped that this activity can provide sufficient provisions for FEB UWP students to enter the business world after graduating.
Wijaya Putra University continues to strive to provide quality education that is relevant to the needs of the world of work. This business observation activity is one example.
KBS welcomes the business observation activities carried out by FEB UWP students. They hope that this activity can provide benefits for both parties.
