Faculty of Engineering, Wijaya Putra University Collaborates with PT. Blip Integrator Provider Holds Fiber Optic Training for Sunan Ampel Gresik Vocational School Students
Faculty of Engineering, Wijaya Putra University in collaboration with PT. Blip Integrator Provider held a fiber optic training activity which took place on February 22, 2025. This activity was held at the UWP Networking Lab and was attended by students of SMK Sunan Ampel Gresik.
This training aims to introduce fiber optic technology to the younger generation and provide practical knowledge needed in the telecommunications industry. The series of programs began with a presentation of material on the basics of fiber optics, followed by a hands-on practice session to provide students with the opportunity to understand how fiber optic systems work and install them.
In his remarks, the Dean of FT UWP, Ong Andre, ST., MT., emphasized the importance of training like this in improving students' skills, so that they are ready to face challenges in the world of work. "Through this training, we hope that students will not only gain theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that can be applied in the field," he said.
Meanwhile, a representative from PT. Blip, Dinda Maurizka, is one of the leading companies in the field of information and communication technology, adding that this program is part of their efforts to contribute to education and human resource development in Indonesia. "We want to invest in the future by helping vocational high school students understand emerging technologies," he said.
The students of Sunan Ampel Vocational High School looked enthusiastic during the training session. They actively asked questions and participated in every practice that was carried out. One of the students, Cealsy, said that this training opened his insight into job opportunities in the fiber optic field which are very promising. "I feel more prepared to enter the world of work after taking this training," he said.
By holding this training, Wijaya Putra University and PT. Blip Integrator Provider hope to bridge the gap between education and industry, as well as prepare the younger generation to contribute to the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Indonesia.
This activity was closed with the handover of certificates for participants who had taken the training, as well as the hope to hold further collaborations in the future to improve the quality of education and students' skills in the field of communication technology.
