The atmosphere of togetherness and family was felt in the Christmas celebration held by the Manggarai Raya Student Association of Wijaya Putra University. The event, which took place on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the UWP Benowo Campus, was attended by dozens of students, alumni, lecturers, and the Manggarai Family Association of Surabaya.

This Christmas celebration was filled with various activities, ranging from thanksgiving services, musical performances, drama, and Manggarai regional dances.

The remarks were delivered by the Chancellor of UWP, Dr. Budi Endarto, M.Hum, in his speech emphasizing that Manggarai students are part of the big family of the UWP academic community, so let's maximize both academic and non-academic activities together. ⁠ ⁠During the Large-Scale Social Restrictions of the 2020 Covid pandemic, many Manggarai students were unable to return to their hometowns, therefore UWP provided assistance in the form of quarantine on campus for students who were exposed and provided basic food assistance. So don't feel alone because you are part of the big family of UWP academicians, he said.

The Advisory Lecturer of the Manggarai Raya Student Association, Petrus Suparman, SE., MM, in his speech said that this Christmas celebration is a momentum to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among fellow Manggarai students. He is also very grateful to UWP for providing facilities and inviting us Manggarai Raya students to achieve together in academic and non-academic fields.

The representative of IKMA Surabaya, Yan Habur, in his speech emphasized the importance of the Christmas celebration as a momentum to share love and kindness to others. He also invited all Manggarai students at UWP to continue to contribute positively to society and make Manggarai proud in their foreign lands.

The participants seemed enthusiastic in following each series of events and were immersed in the warm atmosphere of Christmas. The Christmas celebration of the Manggarai Raya Student Association of Wijaya Putra University is expected to become an annual routine agenda and further strengthen the sense of brotherhood among students.
