Assistant Coach and Ju-Jitsu Level Up for East Java at Wijaya Putra University
More than 300 Ju-Jitsu trainers and participants from various regions in East Java took the assistant trainer exam and level up exam organized by the East Java Indonesian Ju-Jitsu Institute at Wijaya Putra University. The event, which was held on February 23, 2025, was a series of activities for the 44th Wijaya Putra Anniversary with the theme "Sociopreneurial Innovation Towards Superior and Beneficial Wijaya Putra" which is expected to gain high enthusiasm for increasing public interest in this martial art in a province known for its cultural diversity.
The participants came from various backgrounds, from beginners to those who are experienced, with the hope of improving their skills and obtaining an official certificate recognized by the Indonesian Ju-Jitsu Institute. This exam is not just a formality, but also an important moment for athletes and trainers to demonstrate their technical, strategic, and mental abilities.
UWP Chancellor, Dr. Budi Endarto, M.Hum, in his speech explained that this activity is part of an effort to develop Ju-Jitsu sports, especially UKM Ju-Jitsu at Wijaya Putra University. "We hope that through this test, participants can improve their quality and their ability to train," he said.
This event was also attended by a number of Ju-Jitsu sports initiators in the country who provided training and direct guidance to the participants. In addition, the judges consisting of experienced Ju-Jitsu experts were also present to assess each participant based on predetermined criteria.
With the success of this event, it is hoped that more assistant coaches and quality Ju-Jitsu athletes will be born from East Java who can contribute to the achievements of martial arts at the national and international levels. The fighting spirit and togetherness shown by all participants are a positive example for the development of martial arts in Indonesia.
Ending the test, the organizers gave appreciation to all participants for the courage and dedication they had shown. "Hopefully the results of this exam can bring benefits to each participant in their journey in the world of Ju-Jitsu," concluded the Chairman of IJI East Java Kahar Afandi, S. Sos. This event is expected to be the first step for the further development of the sport of Ju Jitsu, as well as strengthening relations between martial arts communities throughout Indonesia.
