Twenty Wijaya Putra University (UWP) students received scholarships from Bank Jatim. The scholarships were symbolically presented to the 20 students at the opening of the 2025 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at UWP's Benowo Campus on Wednesday (September 17th).
The scholarship handover was attended by the Head of the HR Muhammad Surabaya Branch of Bank Jatim and the Head of the Manukan Sub-Branch, as well as all UWP officials and the scholarship recipients. Bank Jatim presented the scholarships in person in front of 457 new students.
Agustin Dyah Ambarwati, Acting Head of the HR Muhammad Branch of Bank Jatim, stated that this year, Bank Jatim is providing Rp 50,000,000 (fifty million rupiah) to 20 outstanding students at UWP.
"This scholarship assistance demonstrates Bank Jatim's commitment to education," she said.
UWP Rector, Dr. Budi Endarto, S.H., M.Hum., expressed his delight at Bank Jatim's recognition of outstanding students at UWP.
"We appreciate the decades-long partnership with Bank Jatim. Despite the current economic downturn, Bank Jatim remains consistent in providing scholarships to outstanding students at UWP," said Budi Endarto in his remarks.
He hoped the scholarship awards, presented at the opening of the PKKMB (Family Retirement Orientation) program, would motivate hundreds of new students to achieve success as UWP students, which is one of the main requirements for receiving Bank Jatim scholarships.
He added that not only academic achievement but also non-academic achievements and active participation in student organizations are also factors in scholarship application. He explained that students have numerous opportunities for various scholarships and tuition waivers while studying at UWP.
"We hope that more outstanding students at UWP will receive scholarships in the future. We hope this collaboration will continue to thrive," he concluded.
